Gallery MIEKE VAN SCHAIJK is more and more represented at international art shows (Rotterdam, Brussels, Rome). From 5-8 October 2017, the gallery presents work by Gino Saccone (Jersey, UK 1979) at the SUNDAY art fair in London. In Booth 14, Mieke van Schaijk presents surprising developments in his oeuvre.

The work of Gino Saccone has recently been featured in many places in the world. Now he will be on view in his hometown London. In an interview, Gino Saccone made some worthy statements about his work. Striking is that he works less than previously abstract: "I have been focusing more on figurative elements in my pictures. Mostly using watercolour as painting offers a very direct process that can keep dancing and moving and let the scenarios appear in their own way."
About his tapestries he said he became interested in plants consciousness, one of the pictures in the show features a plant DJing while simultaneously being a gramophone lifting a barbell. He also introduces the concept of ‘Paintingless Painting’.

Gallery Mieke van Schaijk presents during the SUNDAY art works as Neolithic Graffiti (tapestries), Watchmakers Anniversary, Tutti Frutti, Three Eyes, Corridori in fuga and DJplant Lifting Weights.

Gino Saccone is an Italian / British artist who lives and works in London. He experiments with traditional methods and materials to create a striking and contemporary visual language. With 3D techniques he produces jacquard tapestries. The personal touch and feel of his work make it a convincing comtemporary imagery. Saccone seems to work intuitively. Anecdotal material, cryptic symbols, hallucinating fabrics and dadaïstical attacks coincide in an astonishing ode to the modern hyper-society.

Gallery Mieke van Schaijk hopes to welcome you to Booth 14 of Sunday art fair for a personal welcome.
