pelicanavenue, the label of Carolin Lerch, questions conventional codes of fashion, to avoid stagnation and complacency. It opposes the logic in fashion of constantly changing trends and the destructive attitude of hypes. Each single design is determined by formal and personal reflections on contemporary subjects.
Carolin Lerch (1975) was born in Vienna and lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium.
After her graduation at the fashion department of the Royal Academy for Fine Arts in Antwerp Carolin Lerch followed a course for mixed media at the Royal Academy for Fine Arts in Ghent with an emphasis on video art. She sets up her own platform with her label pelican avenue in 2004.
Carolin Lerch is representing with pelicanavenue at the paris fashion week on a regular base. She has designed and developed uniforms for Mu.Zee – the museum for modern art in Ostend and works as a knitwear and textile designer for Peter Pilotto in London.
